Last aid course at Magdeburg University Hospital: Support at the end of life
End-of-life care is an essential part of human interaction - just as important as first aid. For this reason, Magdeburg University Hospital is inviting people to attend a certified last aid course on 23 April 2025. The four-hour course provides basic knowledge on end-of-life care and is aimed at all interested parties - whether employees, trainees, students or relatives.
Led by Kirsti Gräf, an experienced bereavement counsellor and ethics consultant (Bereavement Institute of the Pfeiffer Foundations), the course covers key topics relating to end-of-life care. Participants learn to understand the dying process as a natural part of life, to categorise advance directives and to alleviate possible discomfort in the dying phase. In addition, the topics of how to say goodbye and personal boundaries in end-of-life care are addressed.
